Area Map Mode
Hold Backspace and then press A while in Cheat Mode to activate the Map Area Mode. The cheat is for programmers or for people who want to use it for any other reason.
Quick Vortex Path
Since you have to search and destroy the vortex, you will have to be in almost all the rooms. But there is a quick solution to finishing the game quicker! when you get out of the elevator, turn on the proximity map, and then go west of the elevator. In the next multi-hall path, go to the right. Kill all the Enirams in that room and recover yourself using the Health Chambers and Stock up on Alien Power by grabbing the Alien Charge packs in that room. After that, looking at the door in front of you from the door to the Health Chamber and Alien Charge pack room, go into it, and you will battle through a Mechanoid Warrior, then Tymok, then the Eniram Boss, then Sorlac, and finally reach the Vortex. I recommend that you get an invulnerability Sphere before you blast away at the Vortex at the last room. Destroy it and you have won, and way more faster. This does not apply to the Presidential Mode.

When hex editing your saved-game files:
Health is offset 48(decimal)
Ammo is offset 50
Armor is offset 116
Energy for the alien guns is offset 118
Something that I noticed while playing the CD-ROM version is that it knows when you modify your saved games, lets you have the modifications, and then zeros your score... arrgh! I guess that's the price you pay for cheating.
